Note	The project is intended to prevent flooding of the Lasithi plateau by diverting water to the Aposelemi dam, which is then used for the nearby cities water supply and irrigation. The drainage will be done by tunneling through the mountain and installing piping from the plateau's lowest point to the reservoir below.
